Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) has been rapidly spreading all throughout the Maharashtra state. Lumpy skin disease is a high-consequence disease in cattle caused by infection with the poxvirus lumpy skin disease virus (LSDV). So far approximately 1.43 lakh cattle affected by lumpy skin disease in Maharashtra. The release by Maharashtra's animal husbandry department further advised the Gram-panchayats to carry out spraying of insecticides as a disease is spreading through flies, mosquitoes, ticks. A innovative study on remedial measures for the presentation of Lumpy Skin Disease is in progress at “Gaurakshan Santhan”, MauliDhande Dist Daryapur under the guidance and supervision of Prof. G.R.Bharskale. This study describes the gross, microscopic, and ultrastructural changes that occur over time in cattle experimentally challenged with LSDV. In this method special type of cow dung cake and medicinal paste made at “Gaurakshan Santhan from Natural Medicinal plants like Turmeric, Neem, and some special plants. The Special modified cow dung cake made at Gaurakshan Sansthan Mauli Dhande is burned twice a day the fumes of the special modified cow dung cake help to made the area sterile and prevent the spreading the virus. The Infected cattle were washed daily with the Neem extracted water. The Bio paste is inoculated on the skin of the infected cattle’s everyday and monitored for 19 to 21 days. During this time a special team of Veterinary doctors also monitor and observe their findings on the infected cattle’s. This study highlights the noteworthy observations on the prevention and control of Lumpi Skin Disease.
