Abstract :

Financial forecasting increasingly requires the integration of heterogeneous information sources, including textual disclosures, financial news, macroeconomic narratives, numerical market indicators, and time-series data. This paper proposes a cross-modal reasoning framework for financial analytics that combines financial text and numerical data through multimodal learning to improve market-signal extraction, economic forecasting, and risk assessment. The proposed approach focuses on establishing meaningful relationships between qualitative financial narratives and quantitative market movements while addressing differences in temporal structure, information frequency, and signal relevance across modalities. A temporal alignment mechanism synchronizes textual events with corresponding numerical market observations, enabling the model to identify relationships among financial events, market responses, and evolving risk conditions. Attention-based computation is further employed to estimate the relative importance of individual textual and numerical features and generate interpretable attention scores for market-signal evaluation. These scores are incorporated into a risk-assessment layer to distinguish influential signals from less relevant or noisy information and to support dynamic assessment of changing market conditions. By integrating cross-modal representation learning, temporal alignment, market-signal extraction, and attention-driven risk evaluation within a unified analytical framework, the proposed approach provides a structured method for analyzing complex interactions between financial narratives and quantitative indicators. The framework is intended to support more context-aware economic forecasting and financial analytics while improving the interpretability of multimodal market intelligence and risk-assessment processes.
