Hypertension is a major non-communicable disease affecting the elderly and often goes undetected, leading to serious complications. This community engagement program aimed to empower older adults in managing hypertension through routine blood pressure checks and participatory health education focused on medication adherence. The activity was conducted with 40 older adults from the Bilansia community in Surakarta, who regularly gather for social and health-related events.

2. Population Age Structure and Socio-Economic Transformation: Challenges in India | Satyendra Nath Chakrabartty

Economic and social transformations of a country depend heavily on population age-structure and its growth dynamics along with impact on policies adopted and generation of opportunities.The paper describes major socio-economic-demographic consequences of India based on changing demography with emphasis on measurement aspects of demographic dividends (DV) and suggests indices like active participation index (API), comprehensive e-participation index (CEPI), index of participation rate of females (I_FLFPR) combining relevant chosen indicators in ratio or ordinal scales.

3. Early Detection and Education about Scoliosis in Mojosongo 5 Public Elementary School of Surakarta, Central Java Indonesia | Sisybania, Dody Suprayogi, Syarifah Syarifah

Scoliosis is a spinal deformity that commonly occurs in school-aged children and often remains undetected at an early stage. This community service program aimed to increase students’ knowledge and conduct early detection of scoliosis through education and simple screening. The methods included interactive health education using visual media, demonstrations of correct posture, stretching exercises, and examination with the Adam’s Forward Bend Test among 120 sixth-grade students at SD Negeri Mojosongo 5 Surakarta.
